Saint Panteleimon (c. 275–305) was a physician and Christian martyr known for his healing and mercy. Born in Nicomedia to a pagan father and Christian mother, he was baptized after witnessing a miraculous healing through Christ. He began treating the sick for free, gaining fame as an unmercenary healer.
Under Emperor Maximian, he was arrested, tortured, and eventually beheaded for refusing to deny Christ. Miracles accompanied his martyrdom, including a tree blossoming at his execution. He is venerated as a patron of the sick and doctors, with his feast day celebrated on July 27.
